New MG 3 Internet vehicle hits Chengdu exhibition

SAIC Motor launched its internet sedan, the MG3, at Chengdu Motor Show in Sichuan, Aug 25.

MG has been developing and producing internet vehicles for younger markets, keeping in line with SAIC Motor’s interconnection and intelligence strategies. Other MG models, including the popular MG ZS and MG GS internet version, were also showcased at the exhibition, where interactive activities with drivers were also staged to showcase the vehicles’ features.

The new vehicle, priced between 59,800 to 93,800 yuan ($9,190 to $14,416), is designed for younger drivers and sports an exquisite appearance, supreme driving stability and high security performance.

The internet system grants MG3 new functions like intelligent navigation, Alipay payment processing, and voice-controlled operation. Clients can control the vehicle from hundreds of kilometers away, managing the navigation system, turning off the music player and opening the skylight, all with voice commands. For the self-driving tourist, the vehicle offers a “super motorcade”, which allows drivers to share information with MG team members in real time. The internet system is upgradable, allowing drivers the latest functionality as it is developed.

The perfect integration of elegance and pragmatism, the new MG3 exudes a sporty identity, the headlights and taillights adding slenderness to the vehicle to satisfy the younger driver’s demand for style.

Installed with SAIC Motor’s efficient power technology NetBlue, the new MG3 remains stable in high speed and cornering conditions. The vehicle consumes only 5.6 liters of oil per 100 km. Abundant interior space, an eight-inch touch screen, pressure-sensor based TPMS, rearview camera, parking sensors and air conditioning system that can filter PM2.5 all help to make the MG3 a safe, comfortable and inviting driving environment.

Through its MG Club Sharing Program, MG also arranged a series of activities for drivers, including a music festival, in an effort to enrich their driving experiences.
